Why is it that we find reveling in something or someone so tantalizing? I find myself perplexed at the notion that we once adored the thing we are reveling in and now we are simply letting them drown in our sea of contentment. I understand that there is a reason to why we are feeling the way we are, but at what point to the drowner's realize their reason for not being able to float to the top and when do we throw them a life jacket?

Cure-ious

The humanistic trait of curiosity, whether using it to evaluate a person's personality or self-worth, has become consistently inconsistent. Why is it that we spend half of our lives deciphering who we should and should not associate ourselves with? In that time, our personalities evolve therefore deeming this evaulation process inconclusive and a waste of time.

Has curiosity finally killed the cat or is it still chasing the allure of the perfect cat nip?

Downgrade

The 'Hot Topic' within the world of fashion has been recent celebrity and designers designing for the punk-rock store Hot Topic. But who would have guessed Heatherette be the newest addition to the stores' display between band t-shirts and bondage pants. It looks as though Richie is flying solo for the project, stating "[Traver] didn't want to do it. They asked Heatherette to do it initially, but Traver said no, so I was like, well I'll do it! I love Hot Topic!" At least Rich's counterpart has maintained a inkling of sanity in his decision.

I guess Target didn't have enough room in their fixtures for endless amounts of tule and ornamental gowns.

Fountain of Youth

It's always been a wonder to me whether the fountain of youth is a literal or physical term. I have now conceded that we are our own fountain of youth and that psychological evolution plays a large role in how we age.

6 months ago we had a smaller amount of inhibitions. Think of it like ethanol-induced drugs kill brain cells and never are re-created. Similarly, our ability to take risks are depleting as our inhibitions are thriving.

If we know now how we can age gracefully, the liquid from the fountain of youth may not be anything more than taking risks in our everyday lives, why is it that we still resort to the 'play it safe' comfort of a soda?

Black Is Not Back

The very revealing yet surfaced demure, Gladys Kravitz Peter Som, has explained that for the next season, the new color will be "apart of the rainbow.'' How sad.

Whoever created the rainbow should reconsider adding the staple color of every stylish human being's wardrobe.

Oh well, maybe this new color will have a pot of gold in the end.

A preview of what's to come in Elle's July 2008 issue. The use of gray scale shows a journey of some depth within the style-icon but the styling is nothing short of unsurprising (and redundant) in my opinion.

Food for thought

As I remove the dust bunny's from the handbags, clothes and shoes from my past, I wonder: Why did I stop wearing this? Two reasons come to mind, either the garbage-bag shaped dress was too trendy to pass on for future seasons or the fact that age or location allowed the allure of genuinely loving it diminish into the bottom of my closet. Why is it that whether expensive, or inexpensive, beautiful or visually challenging, we can't appreciate something at this moment?

It looks as though Sasha got the boot from Prada for the Autumn/Winter 2008 campaign. But who's to be the new 'Prada-gy'? None other than Linda Evangelista. Looks like the to me like the newest trend in fashion is nostalgia.

Christopher Bailey of Burberry has also revealed his new leading lady recently. Her name is Rosie-Huntington White, a London-native, which is obviously a pre-requisite to the look of the brand. [On the switch] Mario Testino says that it had nothing to do with the overly-exposed Agyness Deyn and that Christopher was looking for something new.

Summer Reading List

It's that time again, yes the dreaded list of books to read while on vacation in St. Tropez this summer. I promise it won't hurt since the first is the Sex and the City: The Movie book. Yes, it reveals each and every outfit that appeared in the film, as well as the one's that didn't make it past the cutting room door. I can see the Dior sandals and Burberry studded belt hitting the masses' petite frames already. Watch out!

As a disclaimer, I am going to express to you the motivation behind this blog. I have no intentions of revealing myself in any false sense because there is no truth behind a faux.

Have you ever thought of something so abstract that it causes you to believe your purpose in this world is something greater than you once expected? Well, I have these thoughts daily and I want to share them with each and every person of this diluted world. I believe that everyone is creative in one or more senses of the word. Although, some actually put it to work. I have seen the pattern of the past 38 years and it has been nothing short of a 'Beautiful Fall.' When designers like Lagerfeld, Saint Laurent (R.I.P), and Halston were innovators not followers.

Shining light on these creative minds, I wish to aid in molding your malleable minds by providing a platform of knowledge to let you step out into the world, one Manolo (or for you men- Hermes) at a time.
